a geology breaks in half to grow

A geology breaks in half to grow looks at the geological and industrial processes limestone undergoes as means to explore the varied impacts of exploitative labor on working people under late-stage capitalism. The work includes hand-engraved stones, an artist book edition, and photo installation. Inspired in-part by my father’s career in stone masonry and family lineage working in manual labor.

2023, multimedia exhibition (cyanotype accordion-fold book edition of 50, 2 hand-engraved limestones, 2 hand-engraved soapstones , 35 mm photo printed on window cling, plexi, calcium carbonate, hardware). EFA Project Space, New York, NY.
